Why this product exists

For many years I was building and selling content sites on marketplaces such as Flippa, my biggest success selling a software review site for six figures on Empire Flippers back in 2018.

But as the google algorithms became more frequent and more volatile I started looking at ways to derisk and diversify.

In 2020 I was early to Substack and launched the Website Investing newsletter and took it to 100 paying subscribers generating $5K/m MRR, plus a similar level of revenue from advertising/affiliate. I then sold the business for six figures – I wrote about this on IndieHackers and it more recently got picked up on They Got Acquired.

What I love about newsletters is that you own the list and the traffic it can generate can’t be taken away from you, in the way Big G can. You can sleep well at night.
